Two exciting long-term ESC placements are now open at a creative and nature-loving alternative school in Recurt, France! Experience an entire academic year immersed in forest education, Montessori-inspired methods, and sustainability practices in a rural setting.

๐ŸŽฏ Eligibility criteria (Who can apply?):
Applicants aged 18โ€“30 with an interest in working with children in alternative education settings. Ideal candidates are flexible, open-minded, nature-loving, and eager to learn about pedagogies such as Montessori, Freinet, and Steiner. Non-violent communication and teamwork are essential. No prior teaching experience required but a background in animation or education is a plus.

๐Ÿงช Responsibilities / tasks:

  • Support daily activities of the alternative school
  • Participate in nature-based learning (e.g. forest school Fridays)
  • Assist in multilingual, creative, and eco-friendly workshops
  • Learn and apply sustainable practices (dry toilets, recycling, etc.)
  • Engage with children through games, songs, storytelling, and rituals
  • Join pedagogical projects involving topics like the environment, cultures, emotions, and cooperation
