Are you passionate about working with children and creating inclusive, supportive environments? 🌈✨
Join ADRA – Adventist Development and Relief Agency and Uganda Pioneers Association in Kampala, 🇺🇬 Uganda to support children aged 2+ with disabilities including Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, communication disorders, and intellectual disabilities.
As a Care & Support Volunteer, you’ll contribute to:
🧒 Early intervention & therapy sessions
👩🏫 Special needs education & life skills
💪 Promoting independence, emotional resilience, and social wellbeing
🤝 Supporting parents and guardians through home visits
📝 Volunteer Tasks
✅ Assist in daily care & therapeutic activities
✅ Support basic hygiene, early learning, and developmental play
✅ Help organize inclusive games and sports 🎲⚽
✅ Conduct community visits and parental support sessions
✅ Contribute to children’s talent development through creativity and engagement
🛏️ Accommodation & Allowance
🏡 Shared apartment with private lockable rooms
🍽️ Monthly allowance for food, communication & transport
🛺 Daily commute using local transport (Matatus & Boda Bodas)
📚 Training & Support
💻 Online pre-departure training
👋 In-person orientation on arrival
🗣️ Financial support to learn the local language
🌍 Continuous support from the host organisation
👤 Who Can Apply?
🧡 Previous experience with children (formal or informal) is a plus
🌟 Love for children, creativity, cheerfulness, and resilience are key
🗣️ English proficiency required
🌍 Open to cultural exchange and willing to adapt to a new environment
