12 Erasmus+ Opportunities: Training Courses, Webinars and a Youth Exchange

Posted 19 September 2026

Twelve Erasmus+ opportunities for youth workers are open right now across eleven countries, and they split into three very different formats: seven residential training courses, four online sessions you can join from your desk, and one youth exchange in Cyprus. At Youth Works Hub we opened all twelve listings and read them in full, including the parts that decide whether an application is worth your evening: exact dates, who is actually eligible, and what you pay. Deadlines run from 27 September through to 29 December, so this batch covers both the applications due this week and the ones you can plan calmly.

The training courses are where the substance is. Near Cluj-Napoca in the Carpathians, twenty-five youth workers spend nine days on storytelling as a working method, using myths, fairy tales, embodiment practice, the Way of Council, drumming and ritual. In Ioannina, Greece, the Hellenic National Agency runs a course that teaches inclusion through escape game mechanics and role play, tackling gender roles, sexual identities, disability and mental health through mythology. In Belgrade, three days on using KA153 mobility projects to strengthen youth work in your own municipality, aimed particularly at people working in remote or less accessible areas. In Zaragoza, partnership building around circular economy, art and social inclusion, with local visits and a clear goal of forming KA2 partnerships. In Slovakia, a three-day beginner course on designing European Solidarity Corps volunteering projects for young people with fewer opportunities. In Hollókő, Hungary, six days on using humour deliberately as a youth work tool. And in Hemmersheim, Germany, nine days on digital youth work, covering ICT skills, misinformation and youth activism online. If training courses are new to you, what an Erasmus+ Training Course actually involves explains the format, and what Erasmus+ covers financiallyexplains where the money comes from.

The four online opportunities are the easiest entry point in this batch because none of them require travel or time off. Ireland's National Agency, Léargas, is running a completely free Massive Open Online Course on the European Solidarity Corps from 5 October to 30 November, open to fifty-five countries, covering everything from volunteering project design and solidarity projects to grant applications, quality labels and humanitarian aid. Belgium's Democracy Reloading partnership runs four free ninety-minute webinars on youth participation in municipal decision making. Greece hosts a practice-based e-learning course combining storytelling with STEAM challenges, four live Zoom sessions plus offline hands-on work, for a €50 contribution. The United Kingdom offers a ten-week screenwriting programme for social change on a tiered fee from £25 to £300, where you choose the rate you can afford. The twelfth opportunity is different again: a nine-day youth exchange in Ayia Napa, Cyprus on fact-checking and media literacy, open to participants aged 18 to 30, though this particular call recruits only the Spanish partner group.

Costs vary more in this batch than usual, so read this part carefully before you commit. Six opportunities are free to attend: Ireland's MOOC, Belgium's webinar series, and the training courses in Spain, Germany and Cyprus. Romania asks a sliding-scale contribution of €60 to €120 where you decide the amount, Greece's e-learning asks €50, and the UK course runs a tiered fee from £25 to £300. Hungary is fully funded but deducts €25 from travel reimbursement for a shared bus, and requires participants to deliver three to four hours of colleague training and at least nine hours of youth workshops afterwards. The training courses in Greece, Serbia and Slovakia set participation fees through your own National Agency, so the answer depends on where you apply from. Travel on the residential courses follows Erasmus+ distance bands rather than ticket refunds, ranging from €28 to €1,735 depending on distance and green travel status, and how those distance bands work is worth understanding before you book anything.

Three things decide which of these twelve is right for you: your eligibility, your budget and how far ahead you can plan. Eligibility is the one that catches people out, because only five of the twelve open to the usual thirty-four Programme Countries. Ireland's MOOC reaches fifty-five countries and the two worldwide e-learning courses in Greece and the UK have no country restriction at all, but at the other end Germany accepts six countries, Hungary nine, Romania ten and Serbia twenty-three, and the Cyprus exchange recruits only the Spanish partner group. Check that line first and you will save yourself an evening.

On budget, six of the twelve cost nothing beyond getting there, and two of those require no travel at all. On timing, one closes on 27 September and three more on 30 September, so those four need attention immediately; the Spanish, Slovak and Hungarian courses give you into late October; and the German course does not close until 29 December for an activity in February 2027, which is the most comfortable planning window in the batch. Youth Works Hub reads every listing before publishing it and states the fee, the eligible countries and the real dates up front, precisely so that you can rule out the wrong ones in seconds instead of opening twelve pages. Which countries can apply to Erasmus+ covers the general eligibility rules if your residence and nationality differ. Pick the ones you qualify for, read the full listing, and apply before the window closes.
