🇮🇹 ESC Volunteering in Italy 🌱 Hands for the Community: Garden, Animals and Community Events at Manitese 🎨

A community garden. Animal care. Public events. Creative workshops for schools. Agroecology techniques. And a shared house with bicycles to cycle to work. PiGreco — Semi di Intercultura APS and Associazione Manitese are offering an ESC volunteering placement in Finale Emilia, Italy — a hands-on, community-rooted experience for young people interested in social inclusion, sustainability, and intercultural living.

Manitese Finale Emilia is a community organisation working at the intersection of social inclusion, sustainability, and local community development. Volunteers contribute across two main areas — community projects and events, and a social garden with animal care — spending their time both outdoors in nature and alongside the local community in creative and educational settings.

📋 What You’ll Do

🎪 Community Projects and Events

📋 Support the organisation of public events, creative workshops, and awareness-raising activities for schools and the local community

🔧 Help with logistics and preparation of materials

🌱 Social Garden and Animal Care

🥕 Help in the community garden — learning agroecology techniques

🐾 Assist with animal care

🌳 Create social opportunities for disadvantaged people through outdoor activities

🏠 Accommodation

🏡 Shared, fully equipped house in Finale Emilia — single or double room, shared bathroom, kitchen, and communal areas

📶 Wi-Fi available

🏪 Located in the town centre with supermarkets and amenities nearby

🚲 Bicycles provided to travel to the association’s headquarters (approximately 15 minutes by cycle path)

🍳 Volunteers prepare their own meals — monthly food allowance provided. Volunteers are also responsible for cleaning and waste disposal.

👤 Who Should Apply

Manitese is looking for motivated and open-minded young people aged 18–30 who are:

🌍 Eager to engage with solidarity, sustainability, and community living

🎨 Creative, sociable, and proactive

❤️ Genuinely interested in social inclusion, reuse, circular economy, and environmental issues

🗣️ Have basic English or Italian language skills

🤝 Interested in teamwork, intercultural dialogue, and non-formal education
