Mais Silva Gallery is looking for interns with a background in cultural studies to join their team in Porto β and become part of one of Portugal’s most active and community-rooted contemporary art spaces.

MSG is a contemporary art gallery directed by MΓ‘rio Ferreira da Silva, known for its commitment to experimentation, innovation, and dialogue between Portuguese and international artists. The gallery supports both emerging voices and established figures, cultivates strong relationships with visitors and collectors, and plays an active role in Porto’s cultural ecosystem. MSG is a member of EXHIBITIO β AssociaΓ§Γ£o Lusa de Galeristas, which advocates for the professional recognition of Portuguese gallerists.
π Your Responsibilities
π¨ Support the production of exhibitions and projects
π Receive visitors and provide support during events
π Manage stock and sales at the MAIS SILVA BOOKSTORE
π« Support guided tours for schools and universities
π± Contribute to the gallery’s mission of promoting emerging artists and connecting them with the public
β Your Profile
π Background in Fine Arts, Curatorship, Art Studies, Art History, or Cultural Production
π£οΈ Highly proficient in English β Portuguese is a plus
ποΈ Highly organised, responsible, and independent
π» Basic MS Office skills β Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, and WordPress are a plus
π€ Sociable and comfortable attending to the general public on a daily basis
π Genuine interest in the Portuguese Contemporary Art System and connecting with local artists and curators
π Duration and Commitment
β±οΈ 3β4 days per week (Wednesday to Saturday, 11:00β19:00), 4β12 months
ποΈ Ideally starting October 2026 β starting dates are flexible
