Landheim Tellkampfschule is a school camp in the Hannover region of northern Germany that combines education with fun โ offering school classes and youth groups a place to slow down, be creative, and explore sustainability, nature, and regionality together. They’re looking for an ESC volunteer who enjoys working with young people outdoors and wants to bring their own skills and interests into the work.

The Landheim has 75 beds and welcomes school classes as well as children’s and youth groups throughout the year. It sits on the outskirts of Springe in the Hannover region, surrounded by fields and woods. The outdoor grounds include a soccer and volleyball field, a children’s playground, a nature trail, and an animal enclosure โ making it an ideal setting for outdoor education, sustainability projects, and hands-on learning.

Volunteer tasks are varied and flexible โ shaped according to your previous experience and interests. The Landheim actively welcomes whatever skills and enthusiasm you bring, and is happy to make use of them in their work.
๐ What You’ll Do
๐๏ธ Support the implementation of activities and projects in and around the Landheim
๐ฑ Contribute to projects in the areas of outdoor education, sustainability, climate, and mobility
๐ฆ Work directly with school classes and youth groups visiting the camp
๐ฒ Engage with the outdoor environment โ nature trail, animal enclosure, and surrounding woods and fields
๐ก Bring your own ideas, interests, and skills to enrich the programme
๐ What the Project Provides
๐ Accommodation on site at Landheim Tellkampfschule โ shared apartment with another volunteer
๐ถ Monthly pocket money of โฌ210 plus food allowance
๐ฒ A bicycle for getting around locally
๐ Deutschlandticket โ monthly public transport pass valid across all of Germany
โ๏ธ Travel costs to and from Springe reimbursed at the beginning and end of the project
โฑ๏ธ General working time of approximately 35 hours per week โ may include weekends and evenings
๐๏ธ 24 days of holiday per year (2 days per month)
๐งโ๐ซ A personal mentor throughout the volunteering period, with regular meetings
๐ Participation in ESC On-Arrival Training and Mid-Term Meeting
๐ฃ๏ธ ESC online German course plus at least one German course on site in Springe or Hannover
๐ค Who Should Apply
Landheim Tellkampfschule is looking for a volunteer who:
๐ฆ Enjoys working with people โ especially children and young people
๐ฟ Enjoys working outdoors and is comfortable with manual work
๐ค Shows openness and understanding, even with guests who have special needs
๐ Is independent, motivated, enthusiastic, and interested in sustainability
๐ Is aged 18โ30
๐ฃ๏ธ Has at least basic German skills and is motivated to learn and improve
๐ Is willing to be alone in the house sometimes โ for example on weekends when there are no guests
๐ A driving licence is not required but is an advantage
