๐ Overview of the Experience
This project takes you straight into history you can actually touch ๐ฐ
In southern France ๐ซ๐ท, youโll work on restoring parts of a medieval castle site that dates back overย 1,500 years. Not theory, not museum visits โ real stones, real structures, real restoration.
๐ ๏ธ What Youโll Be Doing
๐งฑ Restore and reinforce stone walls of the castle site
๐ฐ Work on an area including Carolingian tower remains and medieval structures
๐ง๏ธ Repair damage caused by weather and erosion
๐ Help prepare the site to become accessible for visitors
๐ค Collaborate in an international team on heritage preservation
Southern France ๐ซ๐ท is home to some of Europeโs richest medieval heritage, where restoration projects play a key role in preserving historical sites for future generations.
Here, youโre not just learning about history โ youโre physically contributing to keeping it alive. If you’re exploring how to join ESC heritage restoration projects or where to volunteer in archaeology and medieval sites in Europe, this type of experience connects manual work with cultural preservation in a direct way.
