📝 What Is the Project About?
Join a hands-on volunteering experience with the Portuguese Red Cross – Cucujães Branch to make a positive impact in a rural community:
🌟 Key Activities Include:
- Working with children and youth.
- Supporting elderly people through leisure activities, kitchen, and laundry assistance.
- Maintaining and cleaning a Pilgrim Shelter for Santiago de Compostela and Fátima pilgrims.
- Engaging in activities with people recovering from addictions.
- Contributing to environmental and sustainability projects.
This diverse project is ideal for motivated volunteers eager to learn, grow, and support vulnerable groups.
🛋 Accommodation, Food, and Transport
🏠 Accommodation: Shared apartment within walking distance of the volunteering venue.
- Fully equipped with furniture, Wi-Fi, utilities, bed linen, and towels.
💶 Allowance: €300/month (for food and pocket money).
🩺 Health Insurance: Comprehensive coverage for all medical needs.
🚶♀️ Volunteers walk to and from the venue daily.
📚 Training and Support
✈️ Travel Costs: Covered by the ESC Programme for round-trip tickets.
🌐 Portuguese Language Learning: Free access to OLS (Online Linguistic Support).
📋 Task-Specific Training: Provided at the venue to prepare for daily responsibilities.
👥 Who Can Apply?
We’re looking for enthusiastic and committed young people (18–30 years old) who:
- Are eager to volunteer in a rural community and engage in social/community work.
- Love working with people from all walks of life.
- Are curious to gain new skills and explore new experiences.
💡 Bonus Points:
- Driving license or proficiency in Portuguese (though not required).
- First-time volunteers encouraged to apply!
