๐ Project Mission & Objectives
๐ฏ The “Join for a Better Future” project aims to create a vibrant space for international solidarity and local community engagement. ๐ Coordinated by Solidaritรฉs Jeunesses MCP, the mission is based at the Maison Louise Scheppler, a hosting center that serves as a hub for international workcamps. ๐๏ธ
๐ก As a volunteer, you will be the backbone of the collective house, ensuring that group arrivals and daily operations run smoothly. ๐ค By living and working alongside participants from around the world, you will contribute to a culture of mutual understanding and democratic participation. ๐๏ธ This project is not just a job; it’s a social challenge that prepares you to manage diverse groups and organize meaningful community activities. โค๏ธ
๐ ๏ธ Your Role and Daily Tasks
๐ House Management: Provide logistical support for group arrivals and departures at the hosting center. ๐ฆ
๐ค Group Guidance: Accompany groups in discovering house rules and understanding collective organization. ๐งญ
๐ Food Logistics: Support the organization of meals and manage food stocks for the community. ๐งบ
๐ Social Animation: Participate in international meals, barbecue evenings, and cultural excursions. ๐
๐ Mobility: Utilize organization vehicles for collective trips and shopping (driving license preferred). ๐๏ธ
๐๏ธ Accommodation, Food, and Transport
๐ You will be hosted at the Maison Louise Scheppler in the quiet village of Fouday. Accommodation consists of shared dormitories (up to 4 people), emphasizing the “living together” philosophy of the project. ๐ค All meals are cooked and eaten collectively with the groups and team members, with food provided by the organization. ๐ฅ
๐ Fouday is a peaceful village of 350 inhabitants, located about 50km west of Strasbourg. ๐๏ธ The village has its own train station just 10 minutes away on foot, making it easy to explore the Alsace region. ๐ For project-related tasks and excursions, cars and a minivan are available for use by the volunteer team. โ
