On the western coast of Estonia, in the quiet and beautifully natural Lääneranna municipality, this European Solidarity Corps opportunity places you at the heart of a network of youth centres serving children and young people aged 7 to 18. Based primarily in Lihula but also active in the surrounding rural communities of Lõpe, Kõmsi, and Varbla, you’ll support youth work, promote European values, and become an integral part of a small community that rarely gets to meet international volunteers. 🌍 Did You Know? Lääneranna municipality sits along Estonia’s stunning western coastline, bordering the Matsalu National Park — one of the most important wetland bird sanctuaries in Europe, hosting hundreds of thousands of migratory birds each spring and autumn. The region is known for its wide open landscapes, ancient farmsteads, and a deeply authentic Estonian way of life far removed from the bustle of Tallinn.
What Will You Do?
🏠 Work primarily at Lihula Youth Centre, with activities also carried out at youth rooms in Lõpe, Kõmsi, and Varbla
🧒 Engage with children and young people aged 7–18, supporting their personal development, creativity, and community participation
🌍 Promote European values and intercultural awareness to the local youth community
🤝 Help young people access local and international volunteering opportunities
🎨 Contribute to creative, cultural, sporting, and educational activities at the youth centres
📱 Use social media and photography or videography skills to document and promote the youth centre’s activities (a strong plus)
💡 Work independently when needed and take initiative in supporting the youth work team

Who Can Apply?
🎂 Aged 18–30 and residing in one of the eligible ESC countries
🧒 Genuine interest in working with children and young people aged 7–18 — youth work experience or enthusiasm is essential
🌿 Open to rural living and the realities of life in a small Estonian community far from the city
💡 Able to work independently and take initiative when needed
📱 Confident social media user — interest in photography or videography is a definite plus
🌍 Curious, open-minded, and motivated to engage with intercultural exchange in an authentic rural setting
Accommodation, Food & Travel
🏠 Suitable accommodation conveniently located near the hosting organisation — shared apartment or hostel with essential furnishings; rooms may be private or shared depending on availability, with shared kitchen and bathroom
💶 €5/day pocket money plus an additional food allowance — volunteers manage their own meals
✈️ International travel reimbursed based on a set travel budget; task-related local transport covered in full
Training & Learning
🎓 ESC training cycle organised by the Estonian National Agency, focused on personal development and intercultural learning
🥾 Hikes and social activities organised by the coordinating organisation throughout the service period for volunteer community building
