This European Solidarity Corps opportunity in Reศ™iศ›a, Romania invites four passionate volunteers to work directly with children and young people in disadvantaged communities โ€” through non-formal education, special needs support, and creative activities. With one dedicated role for a social media and content creation volunteer, this project welcomes a diverse mix of skills and backgrounds united by a shared commitment to making a difference.

๐ŸŒ Did You Know? Reศ™iศ›a, located in the Caraศ™-Severin county of western Romania, is one of the country’s oldest industrial cities โ€” nestled in a green valley surrounded by the Banat Mountains. It sits close to the stunning Semenic-Cheile Caraศ™ului National Park, one of Romania’s most spectacular natural areas.

What Will You Do?

๐Ÿ“š Facilitate daily non-formal educational activities for children in kindergartens, nurseries, after-school programmes, primary schools, and placement centres in disadvantaged areas
๐Ÿง’ Support children with special needs at dedicated schools and day centres in Reศ™iศ›a, Bocศ™a, Dognecea, and Ocna de Fier
๐Ÿค Help foster tolerance, inclusion, and social skills through child-centred activities
๐ŸŽจ Organise cultural and volunteering activities that promote solidarity and community values
๐Ÿ•๏ธ Participate as a team member in summer short-term projects, leading team-building activities and developing leadership skills
๐Ÿ“ฑ (Social Media Role) Manage the project’s social media presence โ€” create content, design visuals, edit videos, and write posts to share the project’s impact
๐Ÿ‘ช Collaborate with parents to highlight the value of education and encourage family involvement
๐ŸŒ Did You Know? Non-formal education โ€” learning that takes place outside traditional classrooms through activities, games, and group experiences โ€” has been shown to significantly improve social skills, self-confidence, and inclusion for children in vulnerable communities, especially those with special educational needs.

Volunteer Roles

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿซ Non-Formal Education Volunteer (3 positions) โ€” Work directly with children in educational settings, support homework and English lessons, and build children’s confidence and social skills
๐Ÿ“ฒ Social Media & Content Creation Volunteer (1 position) โ€” Manage the project’s online presence, create engaging visual and written content, and share success stories with the wider community

Who Can Apply?

๐ŸŽ‚ Aged 18 to 30 and residing in one of the eligible ESC countries
๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Minimum A2 level of English required
๐Ÿ’› Passionate about education, youth work, and community development
๐Ÿค Flexible, open-minded, tolerant, and communicative
๐Ÿง  Able to show initiative, creativity, and a proactive attitude
๐Ÿ‘ฅ Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
๐Ÿ“– Interest in pedagogy, special education, or non-formal education is a strong plus

Accommodation, Food & Travel

๐Ÿ  Fully equipped rented apartment or house with single or shared double bedrooms
๐Ÿ’ก All housing costs fully covered โ€” rent, water, gas, and electricity included
๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Daily food allowance of โ‚ฌ5/day provided
๐Ÿ’ถ Pocket money of โ‚ฌ4/day for personal expenses
