๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น ESC Volunteering in Italy โ™ฟ Inclusion and Disability Support ๐ŸŽจ Residential Centre, Modigliana ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น
Are you between 18 and 28, open-hearted, flexible, and genuinely willing to work alongside people with disabilities in a residential care setting in Italy? Cooperativa Sociale Kara Bobowski in Modigliana is looking for ESC volunteers to join a team of 4 long-term international volunteers working at a residential centre for people with disabilities. The focus is on inclusion, daily support, and creating meaningful activities โ€” from creativity and music to gardening, cooking workshops, and walks. Young people with fewer opportunities are also welcome to apply. Fully furnished shared apartment, food allowance and pocket money provided monthly. Deadline: 19 March 2026.
๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น Did You Know? Modigliana is a small medieval town in the Romagna Apennines of Emilia-Romagna โ€” perched in a hilly landscape between the Po Valley and the Tuscan border. It is named after the ancient Roman settlement of Mevaniola and sits along a historic route connecting the Adriatic coast with Florence. The area is known for its unspoiled natural scenery, local wines, and the kind of authentic, unhurried Italian life that is increasingly rare. It is one of those places where community still means something real.

What Will You Do?

โ™ฟSupport staff in the daily activities of a residential centre for people with disabilities โ€” working morning or afternoon shifts, 5 days a week, as part of a team of 2 volunteers
๐ŸŽจFacilitate creative activities, games, music, and reading sessions with residents โ€” bringing warmth, engagement, and your own personality into the daily rhythm of the centre
๐ŸŒฑParticipate in gardening, walking activities, and cooking workshops alongside residents โ€” hands-on, outdoor, and practical engagement with the people you support
๐ŸณHelp with eating and cooking support โ€” contributing to the daily care routines of the residential centre in a dignified and respectful way
๐Ÿ’กCreate new activities connected to your own interests or hobbies โ€” the centre actively encourages volunteers to bring their own ideas and strengths into the work
๐ŸŒWork as part of a multicultural team of 4 international volunteers โ€” sharing skills, perspectives, and experiences across nationalities and backgrounds
๐Ÿ’ก Did You Know? Italy has one of the most developed systems of social cooperatives in the world โ€” a legal and organisational model created in the 1990s specifically to provide social services and employment opportunities for people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups. Cooperatives like Kara Bobowski are central to how Italy delivers residential care and inclusion services, and volunteering within one gives you a direct window into one of Europe’s most distinctive social economy models.
