🇮🇹 ESC Volunteering in Italy ♿ Inclusion and Disability Support 🎨 Residential Centre, Modigliana 🇮🇹
Are you between 18 and 28, open-hearted, flexible, and genuinely willing to work alongside people with disabilities in a residential care setting in Italy? Cooperativa Sociale Kara Bobowski in Modigliana is looking for ESC volunteers to join a team of 4 long-term international volunteers working at a residential centre for people with disabilities. The focus is on inclusion, daily support, and creating meaningful activities — from creativity and music to gardening, cooking workshops, and walks. Young people with fewer opportunities are also welcome to apply. Fully furnished shared apartment, food allowance and pocket money provided monthly. Deadline: 19 March 2026.
🇮🇹 Did You Know? Modigliana is a small medieval town in the Romagna Apennines of Emilia-Romagna — perched in a hilly landscape between the Po Valley and the Tuscan border. It is named after the ancient Roman settlement of Mevaniola and sits along a historic route connecting the Adriatic coast with Florence. The area is known for its unspoiled natural scenery, local wines, and the kind of authentic, unhurried Italian life that is increasingly rare. It is one of those places where community still means something real.
What Will You Do?
♿Support staff in the daily activities of a residential centre for people with disabilities — working morning or afternoon shifts, 5 days a week, as part of a team of 2 volunteers
🎨Facilitate creative activities, games, music, and reading sessions with residents — bringing warmth, engagement, and your own personality into the daily rhythm of the centre
🌱Participate in gardening, walking activities, and cooking workshops alongside residents — hands-on, outdoor, and practical engagement with the people you support
🍳Help with eating and cooking support — contributing to the daily care routines of the residential centre in a dignified and respectful way
💡Create new activities connected to your own interests or hobbies — the centre actively encourages volunteers to bring their own ideas and strengths into the work
🌍Work as part of a multicultural team of 4 international volunteers — sharing skills, perspectives, and experiences across nationalities and backgrounds

Accommodation, Food & Travel
🏠Shared room with another volunteer of the same gender in a dedicated volunteer apartment — 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, and kitchen, fully furnished and free of charge
🍽️Food allowance provided monthly
💰Pocket money provided monthly for personal expenses
✈️Travel support provided in accordance with ESC programme rules
Training & Learning
💻Pre-departure preparation to get you ready before leaving home
🌍On-arrival group training — introduction to the project, the centre, and the local context
♿Task-related training connected to working with people with disabilities — practical, contextual learning from day one
🇮🇹Online language course available for the full duration of the placement
📋On Arrival Training and Mid-term Evaluation organised by the Italian National Agency — structured ESC support throughout the placement

🎂You are between 18 and 28 years old and from an EU country — young people with fewer opportunities are especially encouraged to apply
♿You are genuinely open to working with people with disabilities — no specific training or professional background is required
🤝You are flexible, open-minded, and willing to learn and share your abilities and competences within a multicultural team
💡You are able to work with some autonomy while also being a reliable and committed part of the volunteer team
