🇧🇪 Erasmus+ E-Learning Webinar 🏘️ Transforming Empty Spaces into Community Hubs — Towards Shared Community Spaces 🇧🇪
Across Europe, community organisations and grassroots initiatives are struggling to find affordable spaces to meet, learn, and organise — while countless buildings sit vacant in the very same cities and villages. What if we could connect these two realities? Join a free online webinar on 25 March 2026 presenting the outcomes of the Erasmus+ project “Towards Shared Community Spaces”, where organisations from Belgium, Italy, Spain, and France have been exploring how vacant buildings can be transformed into accessible, inclusive community hubs. Through expert presentations, breakout discussions, and practical tools from across Europe, this interactive session brings together youth workers, trainers, researchers, policymakers, and local actors to exchange ideas and approaches. It’s free, it’s online, and it’s open to up to 200 participants worldwide.
🏘️ Did You Know? Belgium has one of the most active civil society sectors in Europe — beweging.net, the lead organiser of this webinar, is a Flemish social movement organisation that connects thousands of local associations, making it one of the country’s most influential platforms for community and adult education work.

What Will You Explore in This Webinar?

🏚️The growing need for inclusive “third places” — accessible community spaces especially for vulnerable or isolated citizens who lack dedicated gathering venues
🌱The shrinking space for civil society and grassroots initiatives across Europe, and how shared spaces can provide a practical response to this challenge
📚The decreasing availability of venues for informal adult education and lifelong learning — and the untapped potential of vacant buildings as community infrastructure
🔑Key lessons, tools, and real-world examples from the “Towards Shared Community Spaces” Erasmus+ project involving organisations across Belgium, Italy, Spain, and France
💬Interactive breakout discussions and expert presentations, bringing practitioners, policymakers, researchers, and local actors together to exchange practical approaches
