Are you a young person passionate about working with children, supporting education, and immersing yourself in Estonian culture? You can join a long-term European Solidarity Corps individual volunteering project at Laulasmaa School in northern Estonia โ a unique school community made up of three schools and three kindergartens nestled on the shore of Lahepere Bay, just 29 km from Tallinn. As a volunteer you will actively contribute to the school community, support children aged 1 to 15 in a rich non-formal learning environment, and experience authentic Estonian culture including folklore, crafts, folk dances, and choir music. Accommodation, pocket money, a food allowance, and travel reimbursement are all included.
What Will You Do as a Volunteer?
๐งWork with children of all ages โ from kindergarten children aged 1 to 6 through to primary school pupils โ supporting their learning, play, and daily activities
๐จContribute to creative and cultural activities including folklore, crafts, art, folk dances, choir songs, and music that form a core part of the school’s identity
๐ฏSupport the school’s non-formal learning activities, hobby classes, contests, and other projects that enrich children’s lives beyond the standard curriculum
โธ๏ธHelp organise and facilitate the variety of activities offered to children during school breaks, contributing to a lively and engaging school environment
๐Bring your own cultural background and international perspective to the school community, enriching the intercultural experience for pupils and staff alike
๐คActively contribute to the life of the school community across three school and three kindergarten locations at Laulasmaa, Klooga, and Lehola
Accommodation, Food & Travel
๐ Accommodation is provided conveniently near the hosting organisation โ typically in a shared apartment or hostel, furnished with essential items, with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. Rooms may be private or shared depending on availability
๐ฝ๏ธYou will receive โฌ5 per day in pocket money plus an additional monthly food allowance to manage your own meals independently
โ๏ธInternational travel costs are reimbursed based on the set ESC travel budget โ task-related local transport is covered in full
๐You will be based in Laulasmaa โ a peaceful village on the shore of Lahepere Bay in northern Estonia, 29 km from Tallinn, surrounded by stunning Baltic coastal nature
Training & Learning
๐You will take part in the ESC training cycle organised by the Estonian National Agency, focused on personal development and intercultural learning
๐ฅพThe coordinating organisation arranges hikes and other social activities for volunteers throughout the service period โ providing opportunities for connection, exploration, and community building
๐ช๐ชYou will gain a deep immersion in authentic Estonian culture through daily involvement in folklore, traditional crafts, music, and community life at the school
