You can join Galway Community Circus as a European Solidarity Corps Arts Administration Assistant, where you will work closely with the administration and management team, support event production, manage circus school reception, create internal communications, and contribute to a lively and welcoming arts community in the heart of Galway. What Will You Do as a Volunteer?

🎪Manage circus school reception and process circus school registrations, serving as the first point of contact for students, families, and members
📋Support the company administrator in day-to-day operational and administrative tasks across the organisation
🎭Provide support to event production teams during performances, shows, and community events organised by Galway Community Circus
✍️Create internal communication materials and ESC-related content to keep the team and community informed and engaged
🤝Attend and take an active role in team meetings, contributing your ideas and perspective to the work of the organisation
🕘Work 38 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 17:00, in a professional and supportive arts environment

Accommodation, Food & Travel

🏠GCC provides a shared house for up to 4 ESC volunteers — the house has three bedrooms including two single rooms and one twin room, with rotation options throughout the year
💡All basic bills are fully covered by GCC including internet, heating, electricity, and maintenance — you simply move in and focus on your volunteering
💶You will receive €11 per day in pocket money plus a €180 monthly food allowance to cover your meals and daily expenses
🌊You will be based in Galway — Ireland’s vibrant cultural capital on the west coast, renowned for its arts scene, festivals, and welcoming community atmosphere

Training & Learning

🎓GCC provides training across various skills — your primary learning comes through practical, hands-on work experience supported directly by the company administrator
💼You will build real professional skills in arts administration, event production support, customer service, and organisational communications throughout your placement
🌍You will be part of a shared ESC volunteer house with other international volunteers, creating a rich intercultural living and learning experience beyond the workplace

Participant Profile

🎨You are interested in at least one of the following fields: arts, arts administration, or nonprofit management
💻You are familiar with Office 365 apps — particularly Outlook and Excel — familiarity with Canva is a bonus
📞You are comfortable taking phone calls, responding to emails, and communicating in person with both staff and circus community members
🤝You can work effectively as part of a team, meet deadlines, and perform well under pressure in a busy and dynamic arts environment
🛎️Previous customer service experience is ideal — you will be a key point of contact for families, students, and members of the public at the circus school reception
