Are you a creative young person passionate about sustainability, art, and community action? You can join a European Solidarity Corps volunteering project in Thessaloniki, Greece, where young volunteers, artists, journalists, and community members come together to confront waste and overconsumption by transforming discarded materials into powerful symbols of renewal and social reflection. What Will You Do as a Volunteer?
๐จCreate recycled art installations in parks and public spaces across Thessaloniki, transforming waste materials into creative symbols of sustainability and renewal
๐ฌOrganise and participate in open debates on circular economy, overconsumption, and sustainable living in collaboration with the local community
๐Contribute to a symposium connecting environmental thinkers, cultural practitioners, and community members around the themes of creativity and sustainability
๐ฐProduce youth-led journalism to document the campaign’s activities, amplify its message, and share stories of creativity and environmental action with a wider audience
โป๏ธEngage in hands-on creative reuse projects that challenge the culture of waste and inspire alternative ways of thinking about materials and consumption
๐คCollaborate in an intercultural volunteer team while engaging meaningfully with the local Thessaloniki community and its cultural context

๐ Accommodation is arranged in a welcoming residential setting with a dedicated social mentor who provides continuous guidance and support throughout the project

Training & Learning
โป๏ธTraining 1 โ Circular Thinking and Creative Reuse: explore recycling challenges and how discarded materials can be transformed into resources for artistic creation in public spaces
๐ฐTraining 2 โ Creative Communication and Community Journalism: develop basic storytelling and reporting skills to document recycling issues, debates, and artistic activities and share the campaign’s message with the wider community
๐ฑYou will benefit from a structured living environment designed to encourage personal growth, team bonding, and meaningful interaction with the local community throughout the project
Participant Profile
๐จYou have an interest or basic experience in areas such as visual arts, creative recycling, cultural initiatives, environmental awareness, community journalism, or social participation through art
๐You are motivated to contribute to solidarity actions, collaborate in an intercultural team, and engage in both practical and creative activities related to sustainability
๐Previous involvement in volunteering, cultural activities, awareness campaigns, or community-based projects is considered an asset โ but is not required
๐คYou are willing to learn, share ideas, participate actively in the collective life of the project, and respect the local community and cultural context of Thessaloniki
๐The project encourages applications from young people with diverse backgrounds, including those who may especially benefit from participation in international solidarity activities
