๐ About the Volunteering Project
This European Solidarity Corps (ESC) volunteering project in Quito, Ecuador focuses on biodiversity monitoring, environmental education and community engagement. Volunteers will work closely with local communities and youth initiatives to support environmental conservation activities while gaining hands-on experience in biodiversity documentation and community-based sustainability initiatives.
The project combines environmental field work, education and digital communication, allowing volunteers to contribute to ecological monitoring and help local communities strengthen environmental awareness and sustainable practices.
Participants will collaborate with community members to explore biodiversity trails, document flora and fauna, support educational activities for children and youth, and help produce communication materials promoting biodiversity and local traditions.
๐ฑ Volunteer Activities
๐ฟ Conduct biodiversity walks to document flora and fauna through photos, videos and field observations
๐ Organize and upload biodiversity records using digital identification tools and shared databases
๐ฑ Create social media and communication content about community activities and environmental initiatives
๐ฌ Participate in dialogue circles with community members discussing biodiversity and sustainability practices
๐ Support preparation and facilitation of community workshops and training sessions
๐ซ Assist with environmental education activities in schools for children and youth

๐ Volunteers aged 18โ35
๐ฑ Passionate about nature, biodiversity and environmental protection
๐ค Interested in community engagement and intercultural exchange
๐ท Skills or interest in photography, video production or social media communication
๐ฟ Background or interest in ecology, biology, botany, agroecology or environmental sciences
๐ช Good physical condition and willingness to work outdoors
๐ค Positive attitude, proactive mindset and teamwork skills
๐ Accommodation, Food and Transport
๐ก Volunteers will live in a shared volunteer house with individual and shared rooms
๐ณ Volunteers will have access to kitchen facilities and local markets to cook their meals
๐ Local transport is available via community transport, buses or walking depending on activity locations
๐ Training and Support
๐งโ๐ซ Online pre-departure training before arrival
๐ On-arrival training in Ecuador
๐ Mid-term evaluation after three months
๐ค Continuous mentorship and support from experienced staff
๐ Final evaluation and follow-up meeting after returning home
