Intro
A meaningful European Solidarity Corps volunteering opportunity is open in France for young people from Italy who want to support older people, fight loneliness, and build strong intergenerational connections. This long-term project takes place in Rennes and combines social support, storytelling, digital inclusion, and community life.

Project Overview
Together with another European volunteer, you will join an organisation that has been fighting loneliness among older people for decades. Your main mission focuses on listening, connection, and memory-sharing, while also supporting everyday social activities.
🎙️ Collecting life stories from older people within the “Ascoltami” project
📝 Producing final outputs such as written texts, audio recordings, or videos
👥 Promoting the project among local volunteers and identifying participants
🚶 Regular visits with older people to talk, walk, and play board games
💻 Organising digital workshops to help older people use new technologies
🎉 Taking part in community life, meetings, events, trips, and association activities

What Is Covered
🏠 Accommodation in a single room in a youth residence or shared apartment
🚋 Access to public transport (tram and bus) near the accommodation
💶 Monthly allowance: 530 € (personal expenses, food, and internet)
✈️ Full reimbursement of travel costs between Italy and France
🩺 European Solidarity Corps health insurance coverage
⏰ Working time: approximately 31 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Who Can Apply
👤 Aged between 18–30
❤️ Strong interest in exchange and sharing with older people
💻 Good digital skills and interest in audiovisual or storytelling projects
🤝 Comfortable working in teams and facilitating individual or group activities
🌍 Open-minded, motivated, and eager to develop social and intercultural skills
🚗 Driving licence and confidence in driving are a strong plus
🗣️ Ability to hold simple conversations in French and motivation to improve
