🌱 Project Overview
This European Solidarity Corps (ESC) Individual Volunteering opportunity takes place in Neufvilles, Belgium 🇧🇪and focuses on social care, inclusion, and well-being. Volunteers support adults with mental disabilities in a residential setting, contributing to everyday life, educational supervision, creative workshops, and community events, while also developing their own ideas and initiatives.

🎯 Volunteering Activities
Volunteers will be involved in daily life and educational support, including:
🤝 Assisting residents with everyday routines such as dressing, cooking, games, and walks
🎨 Supporting creative and practical workshops (painting, soap-making, iron/woodwork, farm activities)
🏠 Contributing to the daily supervision and well-being of residents in a home of 15 people
🎉 Helping organise centre-wide events (carnival, soapbox race, Special Olympics, celebrations)
🧳 Supporting holiday trips organised for residents
💡 Gradually taking on responsibilities at an individual pace and developing personal project ideas

🏡 Accommodation, Food & Transport
🏠 Furnished studio apartment located about 2.5 km from the centre
🚆 Train station 200 m away with connections to Mons, Soignies, and Brussels
🚗 Possibility to borrow a vehicle for trips to Soignies station
🍽️ Food provided by the centre 7 days a week
👩‍🍳 Option to cook independently or eat in the centre’s canteen / with residents during evening shifts

🎓 Training During the Activity
📘 Participation in ESC trainings organised by the National Agency
🏫 Four residential seminars organised by the coordinating team
🤝 Regular team meetings and continuous mentoring by a designated tutor
🗣️ French lessons on site available
🧠 Strong learning focus on social work and support for people with learning disabilities

🎂 Aged 18–30
🤍 Interested in working with people with mental disabilities
🌍 Motivated to engage in a social and inclusive project
🗣️ Willing to work in a French-speaking environment and learn the language
