๐ฑ Project Overview
This European Solidarity Corps (ESC) Individual Volunteering opportunity takes place in Neufvilles, Belgium ๐ง๐ชand focuses on social care, inclusion, and well-being. Volunteers support adults with mental disabilities in a residential setting, contributing to everyday life, educational supervision, creative workshops, and community events, while also developing their own ideas and initiatives.
๐ฏ Volunteering Activities
Volunteers will be involved in daily life and educational support, including:
๐ค Assisting residents with everyday routines such as dressing, cooking, games, and walks
๐จ Supporting creative and practical workshops (painting, soap-making, iron/woodwork, farm activities)
๐ Contributing to the daily supervision and well-being of residents in a home of 15 people
๐ Helping organise centre-wide events (carnival, soapbox race, Special Olympics, celebrations)
๐งณ Supporting holiday trips organised for residents
๐ก Gradually taking on responsibilities at an individual pace and developing personal project ideas
๐ก Accommodation, Food & Transport
๐ Furnished studio apartment located about 2.5 km from the centre
๐ Train station 200 m away with connections to Mons, Soignies, and Brussels
๐ Possibility to borrow a vehicle for trips to Soignies station
๐ฝ๏ธ Food provided by the centre 7 days a week
๐ฉโ๐ณ Option to cook independently or eat in the centreโs canteen / with residents during evening shifts
๐ Training During the Activity
๐ Participation in ESC trainings organised by the National Agency
๐ซ Four residential seminars organised by the coordinating team
๐ค Regular team meetings and continuous mentoring by a designated tutor
๐ฃ๏ธ French lessons on site available
๐ง Strong learning focus on social work and support for people with learning disabilities
