About the Opportunity
This European Solidarity Corps โ Individual Volunteering project is hosted by The Complex of ลwiฤtokrzyskie and Nida River Landscape Parks in Umianowice, Poland ๐ต๐ฑ.
๐ The project combines nature conservation, wildlife care, environmental education, and scientific cooperation, offering a rare chance to live and work in a protected natural area undergoing active renaturalisation.
Main Activities & Responsibilities
๐ด Caring for farm animals (horses, cattle, sheep, goats)
๐ข Supporting protected species: freshwater mussels, juvenile turtles, amphibians, fish & birds
๐ Participating in the restoration of the Nida River inland delta
๐ฌ Collaborating with scientists from the Polish Academy of Sciences and the University of Agriculture in Krakow
๐งช Assisting in laboratory, field and environmental monitoring work
๐ Supporting environmental education programmes for children & youth
๐ค Helping organise conferences, workshops & public events
๐ฑ Supporting social media, communication & basic office tasks

๐ก Accommodation provided on-site in a remote natural area

Participant Profile
๐ค Motivated, proactive volunteers comfortable with rural environments
๐ต๐ฑ Basic Polish language skills are essential (many staff do not speak English)
๐ฟ Strong interest in at least one of the following areas:

โข Biology, zoology, botany, ecology or life sciences
โข Environmental education & youth engagement
โข Nature tourism, visitor services & events
๐ข Willing to work outdoors, get hands dirty, and adapt to a calm countryside rhythm
