๐ About the Project
Hosted by FOL 74, this ESC opportunity takes place in Saint-Jeoire, France, inside an Asylum Seekers Center (CADA) called โLe Nid.โ
Volunteers support refugees and asylum seekers through socio-cultural activities, sports, mediation, anti-discrimination education, and community-building initiatives.
This mission is ideal for volunteers who want to combine social impact, human connection, creativity, and outdoor sports in a meaningful daily experience. ๐โจ
๐ฏ What You Will Do
Socio-Cultural Activities
- Animate workshops on anti-racism, diversity & inclusion
- Organize cultural outings, well-being sessions, and events
- Support community activities with families and youth
Sport Activities
- Help develop sports events based on your interests
- Participate in mountain sports, snow sports, cycling, climbing, etc.
- Co-prepare local outdoor activities with partner organisations
Transversal Activities
- Co-create and maintain a vegetable garden and rest area with unaccompanied minors
- Support workshops within refugee/asylum seeker training programmes
- Participate in various educational and community initiatives

๐ Accommodation, Food & Transport
- Free accommodation in a shared room inside the Center
- Private bathroom and toilet
- Meals provided 3 times a day at the Center
- Monthly support:ย โฌ8/day pocket money (โฌ224โโฌ248/month) + โฌ116/month food allowanceย for times when the canteen is closed
- Access to Center cars (depending on availability)
A comfortable and community-based living environment in the French Alps region. ๐๏ธ๐ก
๐ Training During the Activity
Volunteers receive extensive training opportunities, including:
- Two national ESC seminars
- French language courses
- BAFA trainingย (qualification for working with children and teens)
- First-aid training
- Additional courses: international solidarity, sustainable project design, and more
A strong focus on personal growth, skills development, and civic engagement. ๐๐ฑ

The ideal volunteer:
- Wants to learn and practiceย Frenchย (all activities are conducted in French)
- Is motivated by cultural exchange, human connection, and teamwork
- Shares the values of FOL 74
- Enjoys co-organising community activities
- Has interest in manual tasks or creative workshops
- Holds aย driving licence
