BirdLife Malta is looking for an ESC volunteer to join their Education Team as a Public Engagement Assistant โ a varied, outward-facing role combining environmental education, communication, and community engagement.

BirdLife Malta is the leading conservation organisation in Malta, working to protect birds and their habitats through research, advocacy, and education. Their Education Team runs school programmes, teacher training, community events, and international Erasmus+ projects โ and this ESC volunteer will be at the heart of all of it.

๐ What You’ll Do
๐ฃ Outreach and Engagement
๐ค Lead educational talks and activities at primary and secondary schools
๐ฉโ๐ซ Encourage and train teachers to carry out nature-based learning
๐ Support the delivery of teacher training workshops
๐ค Participate in community engagement and membership activities
๐ช Support events related to nature education and conservation
โ๏ธ Communication and Administration
๐ Write articles, social media posts, and reels using CapCut
๐ง Produce monthly newsletters using MailChimp
๐ Keep up-to-date engagement data
๐ Attend regular meetings with the education team
๐ Compile an end-of-year handover report
๐ Erasmus+ Projects
๐๏ธ Support the delivery of Erasmus+ international project deliverables and events
๐ What the Project Provides
๐ Accommodation close to the BirdLife Malta offices
๐ก Utilities covered โ electricity, water, gas, and internet
โ๏ธ Flight and transport reimbursement to and from Malta (limited by distance)
๐ถ โฌ380 monthly allowance

๐ค Who Should Apply
BirdLife Malta is looking for volunteers aged 18โ30 who are:
๐ Outgoing, friendly, and keen to meet new people and experience a different culture
๐ฆ Interested in improving bird, flora, and other species identification skills
๐ฟ Passionate about inspiring and educating people about the natural world
๐๏ธ Willing to develop administration, time management, numeracy, and interpersonal skills
๐ Adaptable and flexible โ including occasional weekend and public holiday work
