Work at an elderly nursing home, a rehabilitation centre, a primary school permaculture farm, a pilgrim shelter, and a disability support centre. Cruz Vermelha Portuguesa — Delegação de Cucujães is looking for an ESC volunteer who prefers staying active and working with their hands — in a genuinely varied, practical role in a rural village in northern Portugal.

🏥 About the Placement

The placement takes place across several settings in Vila de Cucujães — a rural village in northern Portugal. The volunteer supports the local Red Cross delegation across a wide range of hands-on activities, working alongside the Portuguese Red Cross staff team in real community services.

📋 What You’ll Do

🍎 Support logistics at the Food Bank

🚐 Provide transportation services for people who need assistance

🔧 Carry out basic maintenance of Red Cross spaces

🏠 Work at the elderly nursing home

🏋️ Support activities at the rehabilitation centre

🌱 Contribute to the primary school permaculture farm

⛪ Help at the pilgrim shelter

♿ Support the disability support centre

🌿 Participate in local environmental initiatives

🏠 Shared fully equipped apartment within walking distance of work locations — Wi-Fi, bedding, towels, and kitchen equipment included

💶 €330 per month for food and personal expenses
