An ESC Humanitarian Aid Individual Volunteering opportunity is open in Zanzibar, United Republic of Tanzania, implemented by SINOP EGITIM PROGRAMLARI VE EVRENSEL VE KULTUREL AKTIVITELER DERNEGI in cooperation with Assalam Community Foundation.
This long-term humanitarian volunteering mission focuses on education, youth leadership, womenโs empowerment, sustainability and community development across multiple local institutions.

๐ฏ Main Volunteering Areas
Volunteers will be involved in different departments and community initiatives:
๐ซ Assalam International School & Children University
๐ Assist in library, laboratory and art/science classes
๐ฉโ๐ซ Act as co-teachers, facilitators or classroom supporters
๐ฑ Support children in permaculture gardens
๐ Accompany students on excursions
๐ญ Assist in rehearsals for public showcase performances
๐ฉโ๐ณ Vocational Training Center
๐ฐ Support womenโs training in Tourism & Hospitality, Culinary Arts, Baking & Pastry
๐งต Assist in Sewing and Early Childhood Education training
๐ฟ Contribute to permaculture and sustainability training
๐ผ Deliver basic entrepreneurship and English support
๐ฉโ๐ผ Reach and support at least 50 women for economic empowerment
๐๏ธ Youth Center โ Africamp
๐๏ธ Facilitate different thematic camps (Orphan Camp, School Camp, Leadership Camp, Art Camp, Storytelling Camp)
๐ง Conduct 4-day camps focused on leadership, teamwork, confidence and problem-solving
The project combines education, social inclusion, sustainability, WASH, entrepreneurship and gender empowerment within a humanitarian framework.

๐ Shared rooms (2 volunteers per room)
๐ถ WiFi available
๐ฝ๏ธ All meals fully covered (breakfast, lunch, dinner, tea, coffee and water)
๐ถ Pocket money: 550 EUR per month

๐ถ Volunteers stay at the workplace (no commuting distance)
๐ Training and Preparation
Volunteers must complete the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training before departure.
During the project, volunteers will receive task-specific training, including:

๐จ Basics of tourism, hospitality and vocational education
๐ฑ Permaculture and sustainable agriculture training
๐ค Event and workshop management
๐ Youthpass certificate
๐ค Participant Profile
Applicants must:
โ Be 18โ35 years old
โ Reside in an eligible country (EU Member States, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Tรผrkiye)
โ Have completed the Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training
โ Not have previously participated in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering
โ Ensure total participation in EU volunteering programmes does not exceed 12 months
The project seeks dynamic, compassionate and motivated individuals passionate about education, youth empowerment, womenโs empowerment and sustainability.
Experience in teaching, facilitation or youth work is an advantage but not mandatory. Openness, adaptability, teamwork and intercultural sensitivity are essential.
