This United Nations Internship is offered by the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), specifically within the Office of Intergovernmental Support and Coordination for Sustainable Development (OISC)and the Operational Activities Policy Branch (OAPB), based in New York, United States ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ.

๐Ÿงญ Main Duties & Responsibilities
๐Ÿ“š Conduct research on sustainable development and UN operational activities
๐Ÿ“Š Analyse qualitative and quantitative data and prepare data visualisations & infographics
๐Ÿ“ Support drafting of Secretary-General reports and policy documents
๐Ÿ“‹ Assist with surveys related to UN development system operations
๐Ÿ›๏ธ Support organisation of high-level panels and ECOSOC / General Assembly meetings
๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Follow intergovernmental negotiations and prepare summaries of discussions
โšก Provide flexible support to senior UN officials as required

๐ŸŽ“ Qualifications & Profile
โœ”๏ธ Enrolled in or completed:
โ€“ A Masterโ€™s or PhD programme, or
โ€“ Final year of a Bachelorโ€™s degree, or
โ€“ Completed Bachelorโ€™s, Masterโ€™s or PhD
โœ”๏ธ Strong academic background relevant to international relations, development, economics, public policy, or related fields
โœ”๏ธ Excellent written English and drafting skills
โœ”๏ธ Strong ability to analyse, synthesise, and work independently
โœ”๏ธ Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
โœ”๏ธ Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to deliver high-quality outputs
โœ”๏ธ No prior professional experience required

โž• Knowledge of another UN official language is an asset (French, Arabic, Spanish, Chinese, Russian)
