π About the Internship
During this internship, the selected candidate will support the Finance Department and gain exposure to:
β’ International accounting standards
β’ ERP systems (SAP)
β’ Donor financial reporting
β’ Audit preparation
β’ Cross-cultural teamwork
Youβll work with experts across IWMIβs global offices and deepen your understanding of financial processes in a major international research organization.
π§ Your Responsibilities
The Finance Intern will assist with:
π Collecting, verifying, and organizing documents for due diligence
π Updating checklists, partner evaluations, and internal trackers
π Maintaining partnership databases and documentation
π Supporting audits and financial spot checks
π Preparing financial reports
π§Ύ Providing administrative support to the Donor Financial Reporting Team
βοΈ Contributing to ongoing process improvements
π Eligibility Requirements
You must be:
βοΈ An undergraduate or recent graduate in:
β’ Finance
β’ Accounting
β’ Business Administration
β’ Commerce
βοΈ OR registered / part-qualified in:
β’ CA Sri Lanka
β’ CIMA
β’ AAT Sri Lanka
Required Skills:
β’ Excellent English communication
β’ Strong Excel and Word skills
β’ Ability to maintain accurate databases
β’ Experience with accounting software (SAP is an advantage)
Eligibility:

A monthly stipend will be provided (exact amount determined by IWMI).
