Start your professional journey in the heart of the European Union! The EPP Group Trainee Generalist Programme 2026 offers ambitious young graduates and students a chance to gain hands-on experience at the European Parliament in Brussels.
As the largest and oldest political group in the Parliament, the European People’s Party (EPP Group) shapes EU policies across key areas—economy, democracy, social affairs, and beyond. Trainees will work in an international, multilingual, and multicultural environment, learning directly from experienced policy and administrative professionals.
💼 What You’ll Do
You will join one of the EPP Group’s Directorates, supporting their daily political and administrative work. Under the guidance of experienced supervisors, you will:
- Assist in preparing reports, policy notes, and briefings.
- Support communications, research, and event organization.
- Contribute to meetings, document preparation, and analysis.
- Participate in European Parliament sessions and internal projects.
Your exact tasks will depend on the Directorate you are assigned to.
📚 What’s Offered
The EPP Group offers two types of traineeships:
Option 1 – Paid Traineeship (for Graduates)
- Duration: 5 months (full-time, 40 hrs/week)
- Monthly Allowance: €1,700 (to cover living costs in Brussels)
- Reimbursement for one mission trip to Strasbourg
- Sickness and accident insurance included
Option 2 – Unpaid Traineeship (for Undergraduates)
- Duration: up to 3 months (full-time, 40 hrs/week)
- Must be part of your official university studies

🧩 Eligibility Criteria
For Paid Traineeships (Graduates):
- National of an EU Member State, associated, or candidate country.
- Proficiency (min. B2) in two official EU languages, one of which must be English, French, or German.
- Must hold a university degree or have completed at least three years (six semesters) of higher education.
- Must not have previously held a paid EU traineeship or post-graduation employment.
For Unpaid Traineeships (Undergraduates):
- National of an EU Member State, associated, or candidate country.
- Same language requirements as above.
- Must provide a university attestation confirming that the traineeship is required within your studies.
- Duration limited to 3 months.

- Degree diploma(s) or a certificate of at least six semesters completed.
- For undergraduates: university attestation confirming that the internship is part of your studies.
