✨ About the Project

This Democracy Reloading training course brings together municipal youth policy officers and youth representativesfrom the same municipality to reflect on, evaluate, and strengthen youth participation in local decision-making.

The training builds on the Municipalities4Democracy module, ensuring officers and young people learn together and separately through interactive sessions. Participants will:

• Assess local youth participation structures and competences 🏛️
• Share practices and challenges of municipal youth engagement 💬
• Explore the Democracy Reloading tools & website 📚
• Learn how Erasmus+ Youth, ESC, and Europe Goes Local support municipal youth strategies 🌍
• Identify next steps for improving local youth participation frameworks 🚀

🎯 Objectives

1. Evaluate existing municipal youth participation practices.
2. Share experiences across municipalities.
3. Understand and apply Democracy Reloading tools.
4. Connect Erasmus+ and ESC programs to local participation.
5. Build strategies for stronger, inclusive youth engagement.

📚 Methodology

• Non-formal learning methods, with minimal lectures.
• Reflection, group work, and simulation activities.
• Joint and separate sessions for officers and youth reps.
• Networking opportunities with municipalities across Europe. 🌍🤝

👥 Participant Profile

• Tandems: 1 municipal officer + 1 youth representative (18–25 years old)
• Officers must apply on behalf of their municipality and youth partner.
• Priority for municipalities already active in Democracy Reloading.

🏠 Accommodation & Meals

• Single-room accommodation provided by the organisers 🛏️
• Meals covered from Monday dinner to Saturday breakfast 🍴
• Informal setting – comfortable dress code encouraged 👕

💰 Costs

• No participation fee requested by the host agency.
• Travel is reimbursed by participants’ Erasmus+ National Agencies ✈️.
• Contact your national agency for specific rules.

🎓 Recognition

All participants will receive a Youthpass Certificate for competence development. 🎓
