Make a Difference in the Lives of Children at the After-School Nursery in Görlitz, Germany! 🇩🇪
Activity Description: The “Hort” at the Christian Primary School in Görlitz is an after-school center that provides daily care for children after lessons until 5 pm and during holidays from 9 am to 4 pm. They offer 40 places, including two for children with disabilities. The dedicated team supervises and provides support to the children. The daily routine includes caring for the children during lunch, followed by various afternoon projects such as free and guided play, homework assistance, project work on celebrations, nature and environmental awareness, and Christian activities like Bible stories, singing, and prayer. As a volunteer, your tasks will involve playing with the children, assisting during lunch and homework, and introducing new activities such as music, arts, sports, newspaper, and circus.

Training During the Activity:
- An appropriate language course.
- The opportunity to participate in seminars about youth work organized by the YMCA.
Participant Profile:
- A responsible individual interested in playing with children aged 6-11.
- Open to the Christian profile of the project.
- Able to work independently and build relationships with children.
- Good teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in the German language.
Activity Dates: A 52-week volunteering opportunity from August 1, 2024, to July 31, 2025.
