🇭🇺 Erasmus+ Training Course in Hungary 🎤 NextGen Facilitators: Learn to Design and Lead Workshops, Handle Group Dynamics and Write Erasmus+ Projects 🛠️

Posted 7 October 2026

Activity dates

11 November 2026 → 19 November 2026

Deadline

20 Oct

NextGen Facilitators is an Erasmus+ training course in Hungary, from 11 to 19 December 2026, for 26 aspiring youth workers aged 18 to 30 who are ready to step up as facilitators. It takes place in Zamárdi, near Lake Balaton, and applications close on 20 October 2026. At Youth Works Hub, we reviewed the infopack and the live application form so you know exactly what you are signing up for.

The programme focuses on planning impactful workshops, understanding non-formal education and handling challenging group moments. You also explore the basics of project design and Erasmus+ project writing, with digital tools and AI used in a responsible way.

From Participant to Facilitator

Across 7 intensive programme days, you turn ideas into learning experiences, design your own workshop and deliver it live with others. By connecting hands-on facilitation to the wider project lifecycle, you see how single sessions turn into international initiatives. You also build a network of youth workers from other countries to help with your next steps.

The organisers' invitation is simple: join to turn from participant to facilitator and kickstart your inner youth worker. The call asks whether you have been to Erasmus+ projects and now feel ready to step up as a facilitator, to design impactful workshops, handle tricky group situations and bring your own project ideas to life.

The Four Goals of the Training

1️⃣ Gain insights into creating impactful workshops, particularly within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme.

2️⃣ Learn how individual workshops scale into a full international youth project.

3️⃣ Use digital tools to boost quality and work more efficiently, while learning about potential pitfalls.

4️⃣ Create a network of young international youth workers who develop high-quality Erasmus+ projects for other young people.

Nine Days at a Glance

The programme runs from the arrival day to the departure day, with seven programme days in between:

🛬 11 December: arrival.

🤝 12 December: getting to know each other, learning space creation and team-building.

🧠 13 December: how learning works.

🧰 14 December: non-formal methods and practice.

✏️ 15 December: designing workshops.

🎤 16 December: implementing workshops and getting feedback.

🚀 17 December: from workshop to project.

🗺️ 18 December: future plans.

🛫 19 December: departure.

Who the Organisers Are Looking For

The infopack describes the people the project is made for:

🎨 Someone who is eager to facilitate workshops but feels unsure about how to design and implement them.

🎁 Someone who already gained a lot from Erasmus+ and now wants to give back.

❤️ Someone who feels in their heart that they want to step into international youth work.

💪 Someone who wants to build confidence as a facilitator to lead impactful sessions.

🕰️ Someone who is worried that their age might hold them back from being taken seriously as a facilitator and project organiser.

Our guide to the role of youth workers explains how facilitators fit into Erasmus+ projects.

Apply If

The infopack lists five conditions:

🌟 You want to become an international facilitator and youth worker.

🎂 You are 18 to 30 years old and you are from Portugal, Romania, Spain, Greece, Poland, Hungary, Croatia, North Macedonia, Czechia, Italy, Austria or Estonia.

🗣️ You have at least an intermediate level of English.

⚡ You are aware that this is an intensive learning experience.

✅ You are motivated and willing to participate in the full programme and the follow-up activities, including organising a workshop for your local community after the training and optionally creating new Erasmus+ projects.

The Team

The infopack introduces the team with a playful hero theme:

🎲 Ábris Szép, project coordinator. The infopack lists years of absorbing non-formal education mixed with a degree in Communication Studies. Its origin story says Ábris started as a "local hero" in 2017, levelled up to "international champion" in 2019 and founded an NGO base, and completed the SALTO Training of Trainers in 2024/25. The superpower is creating programmes so fun and educational that even villains want to attend, with board game nights as special moves, and the mission is building environments where learning and laughter team up.

🧭 Marcelina. A triple-threat in Applied Linguistics, Pedagogics and Trainer Certification. According to the infopack, Marcelina discovered a passion for empowering others at school by organising a first inclusion workshop, and the favourite "weapons" are communication zaps and personal-management shields. The mission is to empower young people to unlock their hidden superpowers and save their communities from the forces of apathy.

The Venue in Zamárdi

During the programme, the group lives together in group accommodation in Zamárdi, a town situated 110 km from Budapest. The venue is in a rural area close to Lake Balaton, chosen to create a safe atmosphere in which the group can focus on developing and get the most out of the experience.

🛏️ Rooms: the accommodation is simple and cosy, and rooms are shared by 2 or 3 people, with a shower and a toilet in each room.

🧖 Wellness: the venue has a small wellness area to help you recharge during the week.

🏛️ Workshops: held in a spacious conference room.

🍽️ Meals: provided 3 times a day, with smaller coffee breaks during the day.

Costs and Travel Budgets

According to Youth Works Hub's review of the infopack, the travel, accommodation, food and programme itself are co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union. Our guide to what Erasmus+ covers breaks down these costs.

The organisers reimburse travel costs for the amount shown in the original boarding passes, tickets and invoices, up to maximum limits. Keep and bring all original tickets and invoices for the travel. All costs above the maximum amounts are covered by you, and you are reimbursed only if you follow the process, bring all relevant documents and take part in the whole project. The maximum amounts per person, as standard amount / green travel amount, are:

🇮🇹 🇬🇷 🇲🇰 🇪🇪 🇷🇴 Italy, Greece, North Macedonia, Estonia and Romania: 309 EUR / 417 EUR.

🇵🇹 🇪🇸 Portugal and Spain: 395 EUR / 535 EUR.

🇭🇺 Hungary: 56 EUR.

🇨🇿 🇭🇷 🇦🇹 🇵🇱 Czechia, Croatia, Austria and Poland: 211 EUR / 285 EUR.

Green travel means travelling more than 50% of the way by bus, train or carpooling, and in that case the maximum travel budget is the increased amount. Our guide to green travel in Erasmus+ explains how it works, and our guide to travel reimbursement and distance bands explains how Erasmus+ calculates such budgets.

Booking Your Tickets and Extra Days

As soon as you get your confirmation letter, you may book your tickets according to the rules sent to you in that letter. The organisers recommend booking as soon as you receive it, because tickets are often much cheaper when bought earlier. Your travel costs are reimbursed up to the amount stated in the programme guide.

The organisers require that you take part in the whole training course. Arriving earlier in Hungary or departing later is possible for a maximum of 3 extra days. In that case you arrange your own stay in Hungary for the extra days, and the additional costs are not covered by the organisers. The arrival date is 11 December 2026 and the departure date is 19 December 2026.

How to Apply and What the Form Asks

With your application, you commit yourself to the whole project: preparation, participation in the mobility and follow-up activities, if you are chosen as a participant. The organisers choose the applicants who seem most in line with the aims and methods of the project, so they recommend dedicating enough time to complete the form fully and answer every question. For help with your answers, see our tips for preparing a strong Erasmus+ application.

The form asks for:

👤 Your first name, last name, e-mail address and phone number including the country code.

🌍 Your country of residence (Hungary, Austria, Greece, Italy, Estonia, Croatia, Portugal, Spain, Poland, Czechia, North Macedonia or Romania), your gender (man, woman or non-binary) and your age at the beginning of the project.

🗣️ Your level of English: basic, intermediate or advanced.

💼 Your current occupation or profession.

🤖 A confirmation that you read the note on generative AI. The organisers encourage you not to write your answers with a generative AI tool, because they are curious about you, not about grammar and structure.

✍️ Why you want to participate, what your Erasmus+ project would be about if you organised one, and at least 3 concrete learning outcomes you want to go home with.

🏢 Any experience related to youth work or youth organisations, including the name of the organisation and the obstacles you face as an aspiring youth worker (optional).

📢 How you found out about the project, and whether you have taken part in an Erasmus+ project before, with details on how many projects and which topics.

🔁 Your agreement to take part in the follow-up phase: when the training course ends, you fill out a detailed evaluation form, send your travel documents, fill out another self-evaluation form later on and organise a non-formal educational workshop in your local community.

🔐 Your declaration that the information is true and that you have read and understood the infopack and the conditions of reimbursement, and your consent to use of your data: it is accessible to the project team and to a representative of the partner organisation from your country, it is kept for a maximum of 10 years, and you can cancel your consent at any time by e-mail to the address in the Links section.

💬 Anything else you want to write about your application (optional).
