🇮🇹 Dive into a fulfilling ESC experience in Genova, Italy, with Buon Pastore! Join the residential community for youth and adolescent girls, and make a positive impact on their lives.
🏡 Accommodation: You’ll live in Genova in a shared apartment with double/triple rooms. You’ll receive 5 euros per day as pocket money and a food allowance. Travel expenses will be reimbursed based on European Commission guidelines.
📅 Duration: 23 weeks (23/09/2023 – 29/02/2024)
📍 Location: Genova, Italy
🌟 Activity Description: The Buon Pastore Cooperativa Sociale – Impresa Sociale runs two residential centers focused on assisting young girls in their independence and self-fulfillment. As a volunteer, you’ll:
1️⃣ Build relationships with the girls hosted.
2️⃣ Propose and conduct activities or workshops for the girls.
3️⃣ Accompany them to external activities once you’re familiar with the project and the girls’ situations.
4️⃣ Prepare and participate in summer or free time activities and outdoor trips.
📚 Training: You’ll benefit from training opportunities provided by the Italian National Agency, including On Arrival Training, Mid Term Evaluation, and Final Evaluation. Additionally, you’ll participate in training organized by association P.E.CO. alongside other volunteers in Genoa. Specific training related to the target group will be provided by the Hosting Organization.
👥 Participant Profile: The ideal volunteer should be 22 years old and possess qualities such as autonomy, maturity, responsibility, openness to sharing and meeting others, and motivation to engage in the activities. Patience, tolerance, firmness, creativity, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills are crucial due to the delicate role in contact with young girls from complex family situations.
