🇮🇹 ESC Volunteering in Italy 🌍 Global Citizenship, Cultural Integration & Community Education in Varese 🤝

An NGO working at the intersection of local community life and international cooperation, a city in northern Italy, and a volunteer role that spans schools, social media, fundraising campaigns, and events. This ESC placement is for someone who is proactive, digitally capable, and genuinely motivated to work for cultural integration and children’s futures.

GuardAvanti: per il futuro dei bambini is a non-profit organisation founded in 2011, promoting cultural integration, peaceful coexistence, and a sustainable future through educational and social projects. As a volunteer, you will be coordinated by Associazione No Borders and based in Varese — working across both remote and in-person activities with a team committed to global citizenship education and intercultural dialogue.

What Is This Role About?

The work spans multiple areas of the organisation’s mission — from supporting global citizenship education in schools to creating social media content and assisting with community integration activities. In winter, volunteers also support the December fundraising campaign — a key part of the organisation’s annual calendar.

Activities

🏫 Supporting global citizenship education in schools — workshops, activities, and educational programmes

🌍 Assisting in the integration of Italian and foreign communities

🎉 Helping organise events to promote the organisation’s mission

📱 Creating content for the website and social media

💻 Remote work and in-person team meetings in Varese — bring your own laptop

🎄 Supporting the December fundraising campaign in winter

Who Should Apply?

Accommodation & Practical Details

🏠 Apartment in Varese provided by GuardAvanti — shared with other volunteers in double rooms

💶 Pocket money: €6 per day

🍽️ Food allowance: €160 per month — volunteers shop and cook at home

✈️ Travel expenses reimbursed according to European Commission rules

🚗 Activities in Varese and occasionally in other locations in the region — regional travel covered

💻 Volunteers should bring their own laptop — some activities are done remotely
