Forty seniors, young mothers, children, and one volunteer who becomes part of it all. The House of Generations in Lithuania is not a typical volunteering placement โ it is a living community where every day brings something different, something real, and something that stays with you.
Vลกฤฎ โActio Catholica Patria” runs Kauno Kartu Namai โ the House of Generations โ a unique intergenerational space where elderly people and young mothers with their children share daily life under one roof. As an ESC volunteer, you become a genuine part of that community โ not an outside helper, but someone who shows up every day, builds relationships, and grows alongside the people around them.
What Is This Role About?
This placement is built around intergenerational solidarity โ the idea that seniors and young families have something powerful to offer each other, and that a volunteer can be the connective tissue that makes that exchange richer. A significant part of the role involves supporting elderly people, including those living with dementia โ so patience, emotional awareness, and genuine kindness are not optional extras here. They are the core of the work.
