Rabat is a city of contrasts โ ancient medinas, modern boulevards, and a growing immigrant population navigating one of the most complex migration crossroads in the world. This ESC placement puts you at the centre of that reality, working directly with people who need support, understanding, and connection.
CSM โ Chantiers Sociaux Marocains is a well-established Moroccan NGO founded in 1963 with a national presence across Morocco and a wide network of international cooperation partners. At the heart of this placement is their immigrant centre in Rabat โ a space built on the principles of tolerance and intercultural understanding, where the volunteer will spend the majority of their time.
This placement is organised in partnership with sending organisation ICJA โ Freiwilligenaustausch Weltweit and is open to participants from Germany only.
What Is This Role About?
The project is rooted in two values that CSM treats as non-negotiable: tolerance and intercultural understanding. As a volunteer, you will work directly with immigrants โ preparing and carrying out workshops and activities for and with the immigrant community. This is not a passive support role. You will be building real personal connections with local people and the immigrant population, and bringing your own skills and creativity to the work.
On particular occasions, the volunteer will also carry out activities with schools, youth clubs, youth organisations, theatres, and other community event spaces that CSM collaborates with across Rabat.
