Are you a creative soul looking to dive deep into the cultural heart of Northern Germany? ๐ฉ๐ชโจ Kulturzentrum Schlachthof e.V., in cooperation with NaturKultur Bremen e.V., is opening its doors to a motivated volunteer for a full-year journey! As a volunteer at one of Bremen’s largest and most diverse cultural centers, you will assist in workshops for children, manage event visibility, and support a wide array of activitiesโfrom high-energy concerts and D.I.Y. workshops to critical climate change festivals. This is your chance to join a self-governed team, learn German, and shape the artistic landscape of a vibrant European city! ๐๐๐
๐ Did You Know? The “Schlachthof” (slaughterhouse) was originally built in 1892 as a meat factory. Today, it has been transformed into a massive cultural hub where creativity replaces industry! ๐ข๐จ
Your Creative Roles & Responsibilities
๐ญ Theater & Youth Work: Supporting theater groups for children and helping organize creative drama workshops.
๐ฌ Media & Videography: Working with the media team to provide courses in videography and audio plays for young people.
๐ธ Social Media & Outreach: Boosting the center’s visibility by taking photos/videos and managing the official Instagram channel.
๐ธ Event Management: Helping backstage with concerts, lectures, climate festivals, and hands-on D.I.Y. workshops.
Learning & Language Support
๐ฉ๐ช German Classes: Benefit from a weekly 1.5-hour German conversation class and full access to the OLS online learning platform.
๐ ESC Training: Attend mandatory On-Arrival and Mid-term trainings provided by the German National Agency to connect with other international volunteers.
๐ง Mentorship: A dedicated Coordinator and Mentor will support your integration into the workplace and life in Bremen.
๐ Did You Know? Bremen is the smallest of Germanyโs 16 states, but it is home to the famous “Town Musicians of Bremen” statue, inspired by the Brothers Grimm fairy tale! ๐๐๐
Accommodation & Financial Coverage
๐ Living: You will have your own private room in a shared flat in the Grรถpelingen district, living with up to 4 other ESC volunteers.
๐ฐ Monthly Support: Total monthly allowance is approx. 533 EUR (323โฌ pocket money + 210โฌ food money).
๐ก๏ธ Insurance & Travel: Full health insurance provided. International travel costs reimbursed based on the official distance band (211-395โฌ).
