La Tchicass asbl is looking for a motivated volunteer to join their team in Liège. This non-profit organization focuses on supporting children from immigrant backgrounds and disadvantaged families. Much more than a homework club, it is a space for exchange, culture, and combating school dropout and illiteracy.

🌍 Did You Know? Liège is often called “La Cité Ardente” (The Ardent City) and is famous for its lively atmosphere and the iconic 374-step staircase, Montagne de Bueren.

What Will You Do?

📖 Homework Support: Assist children and teenagers in the homework school and provide private lessons.
🌍 Literacy Classes: Support adults in literacy and French language classes to aid their social integration.
🎨 Cultural Activities: Help organize workshops and exchange activities for both children and adults.
🤝 Community Engagement: Work closely with local volunteers to combat social prejudices and promote democratic participation.
🌍 Did You Know? Volunteers at La Tchicass have direct access to French classes and specialized training in international leadership organized by Compagnons Bâtisseurs.

Eligibility & Requirements

🌟 Motivation: Open to anyone motivated by volunteering and youth work, regardless of background or experience.
🇫🇷 Language: Willingness to learn French; comfortable working with diverse social and economic backgrounds.
💡 Soft Skills: Open-minded, artistic, flexible, and willing to share your own culture.

Accommodation, Food & Travel

🏠 Accommodation: Shared accommodation in Liège with other housemates. Volunteers have their own bedroom.
💰 Financials: Monthly food allowance and pocket money provided. Volunteers manage their own budget.
🚲 Transport: The project location is reachable by walking, bus, or bike from the accommodation.
🎓 Training: On-arrival and mid-term training organized by the Belgian National Agency.
