๐ช๐ธ Erasmus+ Training Course in Spain ๐ฅพ Rutea La Rioja 2026 ๐๏ธ Itinerant Learning, Nature & Personal Development, La Rioja ๐ช๐ธ
Forget the classroom. This time, the learning happens on the mountain, on the trail, around the table, and under the stars. Rutea La Rioja 2026 is a fully-funded Erasmus+ Training Course unlike anything you’ve seen before โ an 8-day itinerant youth trail across La Rioja in northern Spain, combining mountain hiking, rock climbing, cave exploration, cultural encounters, and non-formal workshops with youth workers from across Europe. This is a moving classroom. A shared adventure. A European youth experience in motion โ and applications close on 10 April.
๐ Did You Know? La Rioja is the smallest autonomous region in Spain โ yet it punches far above its size. World-famous for its exceptional wines, it is also home to a stunning diversity of landscapes: from the high peaks of the Sierra de la Demanda and ancient cave systems to vineyards, medieval monasteries, and vibrant summer festivals. Its capital Logroรฑo sits on the Camino de Santiago โ one of Europe’s oldest pilgrimage routes โ making La Rioja a place where nature, culture, history, and adventure all meet in one extraordinary corner of northern Spain.
What Is This Project About?
๐ฅพ Rutea La Rioja 2026 is an itinerant training course โ meaning there is no fixed venue. The entire programme moves through the landscape of La Rioja, with learning happening in and through nature, movement, and shared physical experience
๐๏ธ Over 8 days, participants will hike mountain trails, climb natural rock walls, explore caves through a speleology experience, visit historical and cultural sites, attend local summer events and concerts, and engage in non-formal workshops and reflection circles
๐ฟ The project takes Manfred on Tour’s long-running focus on entrepreneurship, personal development, and leadership โ and puts it squarely outdoors for the first time, turning the natural world into the ultimate learning space
๐ The project is green, sustainable, and youth-led โ built on the belief that the most powerful learning happens when you step away from screens, into real life, and move through the world together
๐๏ธ A specific focus on rural areas runs through the whole experience โ participants co-create ideas for social projects in rural contexts, connecting the adventure to real community impact
๐ Did You Know? Outdoor and adventure-based learning has been shown in multiple studies to significantly outperform traditional classroom environments in developing leadership, resilience, teamwork, and self-awareness in young people. When participants face physical challenges together โ a steep climb, a dark cave, an unexpected storm โ they discover things about themselves and each other that no workshop exercise can replicate. This is the philosophy behind Rutea La Rioja.
