🌍 ESC Volunteering Opportunity in Spain

“Lousame European Volunteer Project 2025/26” is a long-term ESC Individual Volunteering opportunity hosted in the rural municipality of Lousame, located in the province of A Coruña, Spain. The project will take place from June 2026 to March 2027 and will involve two international volunteers working closely with the local community.

Lousame is a small rural municipality covering an area of 93 km² with around 3,200 inhabitants. Throughout the year, the municipality organizes various cultural, social and sports activities aimed at strengthening community life and supporting young people and elderly citizens.

Volunteers will collaborate in different community-based activities including youth work, cultural programs, sports initiatives and social services. The volunteering experience focuses strongly on non-formal education, enabling participants to develop personal, social and professional skills while supporting the local population.

🎭 Supporting cultural activities such as summer camps and local events
👵 Assisting social programs at the Day Center and activities with senior citizens
🏃 Supporting sports initiatives including hiking trips and outdoor activities
👥 Providing personalized support to different activity groups

🏠 Accommodation and Practical Arrangements

🏡 Volunteers will live together in a house or apartment near the activity locations
🚲 Each volunteer will receive a bicycle to travel to activities
🚗 A municipal employee will assist volunteers with transfers between accommodation and activity locations when needed
💰 Volunteers will receive financial support during the project
