⏳ Duration: 1 March 2026 – 28 February 2027 (12 months)

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
🦜 Supporting the opening of BirdLife Malta’s nature reserves to the public, including afternoons, evenings and weekends
👋 Welcoming visitors and providing guided tours of the reserves and the Salt Museum at Salina
🌿 Explaining the reserves’ history, habitats, flora and fauna
🔭 Setting up reception areas, displays, binoculars and the on-site nature shop
🛍️ Managing a small shop, promoting sales and encouraging BirdLife Malta membership
📊 Collecting visitor statistics and feedback
🎓 Supporting educational events and public activities held at the reserves
📋 Assisting with research work, data collection and data entry
🛠️ Supporting habitat management and maintenance works when reserves are closed, including physically demanding outdoor tasks

PARTICIPANT PROFILE
🎯 Aged 18–30
🗣️ High standard of communication and people engagement skills
📅 Organised and able to meet deadlines
🌱 Strong interest in nature, birds and environmental education
🔄 Adaptable and willing to work flexible hours, including weekends
🚫 Applicants who previously participated in long-term EVS or long-term Erasmus+ Volunteering are not eligible

ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND FINANCIAL SUPPORT
🏠 Accommodation in the northern part of Malta close to the nature reserves
💡 Utilities covered (electricity, water, gas, internet)
✈️ Travel costs reimbursed according to distance
💶 Monthly allowance: €380
🛡️ Private health insurance provided by Henner
