๐งญ About the Volunteering Opportunity
Support for the Inclusion and Civic Participation of Young People with Recognised Intellectual Disabilities is an European Solidarity Corps individual volunteering project hosted by ESPJ CECAP JOVEN in Toledo, Spain. The project focuses on supporting young people with recognised intellectual disabilities through leisure, free-time, and community-based activities that strengthen social, communication, and daily life skills. Volunteers will work closely with professionals, contributing to inclusive practices that promote autonomy, participation, and dignity.
๐ฏ Main Aim
To promote social inclusion, civic participation, and independent living skills of young people with intellectual disabilities through supportive, inclusive, and community-oriented youth work.
๐งฉ Volunteer Tasks and Activities
๐ค Support leisure and free-time activities such as cinema visits, bowling, dining out, and group trips
๐ฃ๏ธ Assist young people in developing social and communication skills
๐ง Support adaptive and functional skills for daily independence
๐จ Take part in creative and cultural activities
๐๏ธ Contribute to inclusive community participation experiences
๐ฅ Support professionals during planned activities and sessions
๐ค Participant Profile
๐ Positive attitude towards supporting people in vulnerable situations
๐ค Ethical commitment, responsibility, and respect
๐ฃ๏ธ Basic knowledge of Spanish is an advantage and prioritised
๐ No prior professional training required
๐ Motivated to learn and engage in inclusive youth work
