๐ Project Overview
This European Solidarity Corps โ Volunteering Teams opportunity takes place in Caen, France ๐ซ๐ท and focuses on human rights education, active citizenship, and democratic participation. Volunteers will act as Peace Ambassadors, working directly with young people across France to raise awareness about human rights, social justice, and civic engagement, while gaining strong field experience in education, facilitation, and public outreach.
๐ฏ Main Activities & Responsibilities
๐๏ธ Educating young people about human rights and democratic values
๐ซ Working in schools, high schools, and youth centres with diverse groups
๐ค Organising events with human rights activists, lawyers, and key figures
๐ Promoting the Freedom Prize, an international human rights initiative
๐ฃ Delivering workshops, presentations, and awareness activities across France
๐ ๏ธ Designing and implementing a personal human rights project during the final phase of the mission
๐ค Being part of an international team of motivated ESC volunteers
๐ Accommodation, Food & Transport
๐ก Strong support in finding accommodation + rent support up to โฌ310/month
๐ Public transport season ticket fully covered
๐ถ Daily allowance 7โฌ + food allowance 8โฌ per day
๐งญ Continuous tutoring and monthly follow-up
๐ซ๐ท Support with administration and integration into local life
๐ Access to the local Erasmus+ youth network
๐ Training & Support During the Activity
๐ Human rights trainings led by NGOs, lawyers, activists, and specialists
๐๏ธ Weekly thematic meetings (debates, current affairs, social issues)
๐ง Civic & citizenship education sessions
๐ First aid training
๐ฏ Personal coaching for future projects and post-volunteering pathways
๐ค Participant Profile
โค๏ธ Strong motivation to engage in human rights and social justice
๐ฃ๏ธ Basic knowledge of French is an advantage (not mandatory)
๐ Open-minded, proactive, and comfortable working with diverse groups
