💼 About Rock the Vote

Rock the Vote, the nation’s premier nonpartisan nonprofit organization for youth civic engagement, is offering paid remote internships for Spring 2026. Based in Washington, D.C., Rock the Vote empowers young people to participate in the democratic process, advocate for equal voting access, and lead the next generation of change.

This internship is perfect for students or recent graduates who are passionate about voting rights, civic participation, social justice, and digital advocacy.

💰 Compensation

  • Paid at Washington, D.C. minimum wage ($17.95/hour)
  • Up to 29 hours per week
  • Fully remote internship — open to applicants across the U.S.

🎯 Internship Responsibilities

Interns’ responsibilities will depend on their skills and interests and may include:

  • Managing communications and responding to voter inquiries about registration and election processes.
  • Creating compelling social media and video content on civic engagement topics.
  • Drafting statements, emails, fact sheets, and press materials.
  • Blogging about key political and social issues.
  • Coordinating voter education initiatives with partner organizations.
  • Supporting Rock the Vote’s civic technology projects and strategic outreach.
  • Enhancing SEO and digital visibility through creative ads and web content.
  • Expanding volunteer programs and tracking engagement impact.
  • Assisting in organizing online campaigns and events.

🧠 Ideal Candidate Profile

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Strong writing, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Creativity and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Attention to detail, organization, and time management.
  • Passion for youth civic participation and Rock the Vote’s mission.
  • A sense of humor, flexibility, and innovative problem-solving skills.

Bonus skills (not required but appreciated):
🎥 Video editing or production
💻 HTML, CSS, SEO, JavaScript, or UI/UX Design
📅 Event planning or fundraising
📰 Journalism, PR, or policy research experience
