🤝 About the Project
This volunteering opportunity takes place in Muonio, a remote yet breathtakingly beautiful area in Finnish Lapland. Volunteers will engage in youth services, cultural activities, education, and sports programs at the Municipality of Muonio. The project is ideal for those who love working with young people and enjoy outdoor activities.
👥 Who can apply?
🔹 Aged 18-30
🔹 Social, outgoing, and ready to engage with youth
🔹 Interested in sports, games, and adventure activities
🔹 Open to living in a remote, rural environment
🔹 Motivated to take part in youth work, cultural programs, and community projects
🎯 Priority will be given to candidates who:
✔ Are currently unemployed
✔ Are not in education or training
✔ Have fewer opportunities compared to the average young person in their home country
🎯 What will you do?
✔ Assist in youth activities, open group sessions, and school-based youth work
✔ Lead hobby clubs (skiing, sports, games, crafts) for children and young people
✔ Participate in non-profit community events and adventure activities
✔ Collaborate with neighboring municipalities in planning and implementing joint projects
✔ Support children’s summer day camps in cooperation with municipal staff
✔ Share your ESC experience with local secondary schools
🕒 Working Hours:
🔸 Flexible weekly schedule depending on activities
🔸 Includes participation in cultural and outdoor events
💰 Funding & Benefits
✔ Accommodation: Furnished apartment with a private bedroom & shared facilities
✔ Meals:
🔹 Ready-served lunch (Mon-Fri)
🔹 Monthly food money (125€) for groceries
✔ Bicycle provided for local transport
✔ Travel costs covered within the ESC budget
✔ Language training: Online Linguistic Support (OLS) & simple Finnish practice
✔ Health insurance (Henner) under ESC Program
✔ On-arrival training at Youth Center Villa Elba (Kokkola, Finland)
