What does it mean to reconnect with the living world โ not as tourists, but as beings who belong to it? This training course does not offer answers. It offers something rarer: a collective space to ask better questions, try different ways of knowing, and imagine alternative futures together.
La Rapugada is organising Resprout Our Roots: More-than-Human and Imagination โ a 10-day Erasmus+ training course taking place in Piegros-la-Clastre, France, from 5 to 16 October 2026. The course brings together 26 youth workers from across Europe in a rural living space surrounded by nature, for a laboratory-style exploration of ecology, imagination, ritual, and the politics of our relationship with the more-than-human world.
What Is This Training About?
The course uses the term “more-than-human” rather than “nature” โ deliberately, and purposefully โ to reopen the ways we understand our surroundings and collectively imagine new ways of doing, experiencing, and thinking about what surrounds us. This is a political project as much as an ecological one: the facilitators believe it is impossible to separate ecology, anti-patriarchy, the struggle against capitalism, and decolonisation.
The exploration unfolds through writing, non-formal tools, theatrical improvisation, meditation, guided walks, shared experiences, and theoretical reflection. Participants will work on ancestral rituals, knowledges, and customs โ and every participant is an active part of the process. Rather than seeking definitive answers, the group collectively opens a space for exploration and encounter.
