Nine groups of children, a kindergarten built around play, creativity, and innovation, and a volunteer role that puts you right in the middle of one of the most meaningful early years education environments in Estonia. This ESC placement is for someone who is calm, patient, and genuinely excited about working with young children.

Tallinna Kullatera Lasteaed is a kindergarten in Estonia operating on a clear and values-driven mission: child-centred, playful, creative, and innovative education for every child. The kindergarten implements inclusive education, supports individual and speech development, and actively encourages children to explore their interests through hobbies, exhibitions, and competitions. Safety, innovation, traditions, and lifelong learning are not just words here — they shape every daily activity.

What Is This Role About?

As an ESC volunteer at Kullatera, you become part of a team that takes child-centred learning seriously. The approach is built around playful learning, using new and innovative methods, and following each child’s natural interests and development. You will be supporting daily activities across nine groups — contributing your energy, creativity, and openness to a school day designed around the child, not the programme.

🏅 Supporting children’s participation in hobbies, exhibitions, and competitions

🌍 Bringing your own cultural background and perspective into the inclusive learning environment

💬 Supporting individual and speech development activities alongside the teaching team

Training & Support

🎓 Volunteers participate in the ESC training cycle organised by the Estonian National Agency — focused on personal development and intercultural learning

🥾 EstYES organises hikes and other group activities throughout the service period — creating opportunities for social connection with fellow volunteers across Estonia

Accommodation, Food & Transport

🏠 Accommodation provided close to the hosting organisation — typically a shared apartment or hostel, furnished with essential items. Rooms may be private or shared depending on availability, with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities

💶 €5 per day pocket money and an additional €7 per day food allowance — volunteers manage their own meals

✈️ International travel costs reimbursed based on the set travel budget

🚌 Task-related local transport covered in full
