For many young athletes, their sports club is a second home โ where they develop their personalities, build friendships, and shape who they are. But how often do young members actually have a voice in how that club runs? Dive into Youth Participation in the Sports Sector is an Erasmus+ training course designed specifically for sports clubs and organisations โ bringing together coaches, instructors, and club leaders to explore how to give young members a stronger role in their club’s activities and development.
๐ฏ About the Training
This is the first edition of Dive into Youth Participation specifically designed for the sports sector. It is part of the Strategic Partnership New Power in Youth between several Erasmus+ National Agencies and SALTO Resource Centres, and hosted by the Finnish National Agency for Education (EDUFI). The training brings together 25 representatives of sports organisations from across Europe to explore youth engagement, youth participation, and the funding opportunities available through Erasmus+ Key Action 154 โ Youth Participation Activities.
๐ What the Programme Covers
๐๏ธ Thematic inputs and practical activities on youth engagement and participation in the sports sector โ how to involve youth more and create a sense of ownership
๐ Sessions exploring the possibilities within Erasmus+ Youth Key Action 154 โ Youth Participation Activities โ and fostering exchange between sports organisations across Europe
๐ Practitioner inputs on youth participation projects in the sports sector
๐ Opportunities to learn from peers about youth engagement at different levels and contexts
๐ค Spaces to share practices, network, and build international partnerships
โ ๏ธ Before the residential activity, all selected participants must attend a mandatory online meeting planned for 1 September 2026, 17:00โ18:30 CET.
๐ค Who Should Apply
This training is for sports sector representatives aged 18+ who are:
๐๏ธ Representatives of sports organisations (volunteers or professionals โ coaches, management, leadership staff)
๐ถ Working with clubs that have youth departments and want to involve young members more actively
๐ณ๏ธ Interested in youth participation, civic engagement, and social responsibility within sport
๐ Wanting to change approaches and learn practical methods for involving young people more effectively
๐ฃ๏ธ Able to communicate effectively in English
โ Actively and regularly involved in a volunteer or paid role in a sports club
โ ๏ธ After selection, participation is fully guaranteed only after participants provide proof of travel arrangements(train or plane ticket).
