If you’re the kind of person who checks platform analytics before breakfast and rewrites captions in your head just for fun โ this one’s for you. EVEC Athens is looking for a Social Media Coordinator through the Erasmus+ Digital Opportunities Traineeship (DOT) programme, and the role is as hands-on as it gets.
What Is EVEC Athens?
The European Voluntary and Educational Center (EVEC) is a Greek NGO operating across three separate web ecosystems: evec.org.gr, microgreens.org.gr, and volunteer.org.gr. Together, these platforms span 18 active social media channels across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube. The strategy is set, the visuals are designed, the copy is written โ what’s missing is the person who makes it all land, every single day.
The Role
This isn’t a passive learning placement. As Social Media Coordinator, you sit at the intersection of content, audience, and platform โ the last person to touch content before it goes live, and the first to see how it performs.
You’ll work inside an established communication team alongside a Marketing Strategist, a Graphic Designer, and a Content Writer. Your job is execution at real professional volume.
What You’ll Do
๐๏ธ Manage active social media accounts across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube for two ecosystems โ minimum 6โ10 posts per week
๐ฑ Build the complete social media presence for volunteer.org.gr entirely from scratch โ account creation, tone definition, audience growth from zero
๐ฌ Produce short-form video content: Reels, TikToks, and YouTube Shorts โ the highest-engagement formats across every major platform
๐ Execute the content calendar by selecting assets, adapting copy per platform, and scheduling through Meta Business Suite
๐ฃ Run multi-platform campaigns covering ESC volunteer recruitment, Erasmus+ open calls, microgreens awareness, and event promotion
๐ฌ Handle daily community engagement โ responding to comments, messages, and mentions across all 18 channels
๐ Track performance through Meta Insights, YouTube Studio, TikTok Analytics, and LinkedIn Analytics
Who Should Apply
The ideal background is in Communication Sciences, Digital Marketing, Media Studies, Public Relations, or a related field. Prior professional experience is not required โ what matters is that you genuinely understand platform culture, not just posting mechanics. If you’re a daily social media user who thinks in content, that’s already a strong start.
This is a Digital Opportunities Traineeship (DOT) under the Erasmus+ programme. To be eligible, you must be a current student or recent graduate based in one of the 33 Erasmus+ Programme Countries or Horizon 2020 Associated Countries. Before applying, check with your university to confirm your eligibility for an Erasmus+ traineeship grant.
