The Knight Science Journalism (KSJ) Academic-Year Fellowship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is one of the most prestigious fully funded journalism fellowships in the world. Each year, 10 outstanding science journalists from around the globe are selected to spend 9.5 months at MIT in Cambridge, USA ๐บ๐ธ, deepening their understanding of science, technology, and journalism while developing an ambitious, independent journalism-based research project.
This fellowship is designed for experienced journalists who want to specialize in a scientific field, explore cutting-edge research environments, and engage with top institutions such as MIT, Harvard, and leading scientific centers.

๐ Open to applicants from all countries
๐ฐ Full-time journalists (staff or freelance)
โฑ๏ธ Minimum 3 consecutive years of experience in:

โ Technology
โ Environmental reporting
โ๏ธ Roles may include reporters, writers, editors, producers, illustrators, filmmakers, or photojournalists

๐ Visa & Residency Notes (International Fellows)
