Join Impact Hub Vienna 🇦🇹, one of Europe’s leading social innovation communities, and contribute to real solutions addressing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — especially SDG 11: Sustainable Cities & Communities. Volunteers will research sustainability practices, improve zero-waste event concepts, analyse environmental data, support community awareness campaigns, and help design long-term green strategies for coworking spaces. This is a perfect ESC project for environmentally conscious, proactive, and creative young people passionate about sustainability, social entrepreneurship, circular economies, and community impact.

💼 Volunteer Tasks

🌱 Research solutions for SDG 11 (sustainable cities & communities)
♻️ Implement zero-waste practices for events & coworking spaces
🔄 Develop circular waste concepts & eco-friendly processes
📊 Gather and analyse environmental consumption data
🌍 Test sustainability initiatives & collect community feedback
🎨 Create awareness-raising ideas and implement them in the Hub
💡 Design your own SDG-focused project with support from the Impact Hub team
🏙️ Help shape Vienna’s sustainable coworking model

🏠 Accommodation, Food & Transport

💶 Approx. €1000/month (accommodation + food + pocket money)
🚌 Annual public transport ticket for Vienna
🛫 Return travel costs reimbursed according to ESC rules
🇩🇪 German course provided
🛡️ Health & repatriation insurance covered via CIGNA
🕒 Volunteering hours: 7–8 hours/day, Monday–Friday (weekends free)
🌴 2 days off per month

👤 Participant Profile

Ideal candidates are:
✨ 18–30 years old
🗣️ English speakers (German welcome but not required)
🎯 Curious, proactive, self-starting and eager to learn
♻️ Passionate about sustainability, SDGs & environmental practices
🏙️ Interested in social entrepreneurship, coworking or startups
🤝 Collaborative, communicative and motivated
🌍 Applications from people with diverse abilities and backgrounds are welcome
🧠 Experience in community building is an advantage but not mandatory
