⭐ About the Project

The Mountain Youth Hub – 2 Months of Volunteering at the Youth Center Smolyan project invites young people to join an inspiring ESC experience in Smolyan, Bulgaria, hosted by Narodno Chitalishte Badeshte Sega 2006.
Volunteers will work at the Youth Center supporting youth initiatives, social inclusion, creative development, eco-events, sports activities, sustainability campaigns, and community programs in the beautiful Rhodope Mountains. 🌄✨

This project offers a unique chance to live close to nature, develop leadership and intercultural skills, and contribute to building a supportive environment where young people feel active, accepted, and engaged.

📌 Activity Highlights

• 🎨 Organise creative workshops & youth initiatives
• 🌱 Support eco-events, sustainability actions & mountain activities
• 🏃 Assist in sports events and community engagement
• 📸 Manage communication & social media content
• 🤝 Work with the local community and international teams
• 🏡 Help maintain common areas and prepare materials for activities

🏡 Accommodation, Food & Transport

• ⏱️ 30–35 hours of volunteering per week
• 🍽️ All meals provided during the entire stay
• 💶 Pocket money: 205 EUR per month
• 🏠 Shared accommodation with other volunteers in Smolyan
• ✈️ Travel reimbursement up to 180–410 EUR, depending on distance
• 🌍 Volunteers under 1000 km encouraged to travel by bus or train

• 🧭 Introductory training on project goals, safety & cultural context
• 🤝 Sessions on teamwork, communication & sustainability
• 🎒 Skill development for event facilitation, creative workshops & youth activities
• 📜 Youthpass certificate issued at the end of the project

👤 Participant Profile

Ideal volunteers are:

• 18–30 years old
• From countries not requiring a visa for Bulgaria
• Open to diverse backgrounds, including fewer-opportunity youth
• Interested in sustainability, permaculture, youth work, multimedia, event management, or project coordination
• Ready to live close to nature & adapt to simple living conditions
• Motivated to join an international, eco-active youth team in the Rhodope Mountains
